On Wednesday, May 23th, UPV (Union Patronale du Var) and UPE 13 (Union Patronale des Entreprises) have organized the first “Club Affaires” party at Le Castellet Airport in the hangar H5. The objectives were to develop the commercial partnerships between the departments 13 and 83, to find new contractors, to find agreements or to recruit. The about 200 corporate managers present have witnessed an aerobatics demonstration, have admired a fighter jet L39 and a painting exhibition, and have sampled wine from Le Château de Pibarnon and Le Domaine de l’Ile des Embiez.

From now on, the aircraft crews, upon their landing, receive a guide which refer all of our partners (hotels, restaurants, shops, …), as well as a GPS already programed with every address of our partners. So they can discover the greatness of the region waiting for their next flight !

Le Castellet August 5th 2011

François ANDRÉ has been chosen by general management to take care of Le Castellet International Airport. He will start at the latest on November 1st 2011.

Aeronautic and mechanics engineer as well as test flying engineer, François ANDRÉ has a higher military school certificate. He has been in charge of several important positions in the French Air Force before starting the development of Le Castellet operations between 2000 and 2005. He then managed La Môle St Tropez Airport in the South of France, which he will leave to join Le Castellet.

We wish a warm welcome to François ANDRÉ. His main objectives will be to restructure operations at the airport, to develop commercial actions in France as well as on an international level, and to create synergies within “Destination Castellet”: the Paul Ricard circuit, the 5- and 3-star hotels on the Plateau (Hôtel du Castellet and Grand Prix Hotel) as well as the restaurants.

An Embraer Legacy 650 at Le Castellet International Airport

This afternoon, the new Embraer Legacy 650, certified last February, landed at Le Castellet International Airport. On board, an M6 French Television Crew, and a celebrity, whose name will remain confidential until the broadcast TV program “Accès privé” (Saturdays at 5h30 PM.) Arriving from Cannes, at the opening day of the famous “festival de Cannes”, the passengers chose to have lunch, at the two Michelin stars “Hôtel du Castellet*****” gastronomic restaurant “Le MonteCristo”, near the airport.

Each year during the “festival de Cannes” and the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco, Le Castellet provides the perfect place to welcome celebrities who want quiet and privacy, only 20 minutes from the “red carpet” and the starting grid.

You begin by visiting the aircraft followed by a briefing on the flight and security information. Then you sit on board for your ‘first flight’ during 30 minutes. Magic and unique moments, strapped to the cockpit of an L39, you are in constant communication with the pilot. Among other things, this allows the captain to adjust the flight according to the motivations, the expectations or the desires of his co-pilot of the moment.
This discovery has got a phase of flight altitude and a few changes in the vertical or oblique, in compliance with all applicable safety standards. To end these unforgettable moments, you will receive a diploma.

The activity conduct :

Location: the ALBATROS association is based at the International Airport of Le Castellet – 3100, Route des Hauts du Camp – 83300 Le Castellet (France) (near by the Circuit Paul Ricard HTTT)

Period: all year round and weekends included
Weather : in case of cancellation due to bad weather will be postponed
Clothes : casual with seasonal thick socks
Restrictions: 16 years, with parental consent signed with a minimum size of 1.50m and a maximum size of 1.92 m
Maximum weight : 105kg with a rather balanced morphology. You have to ask for a medical certificate of non-cons with the practice of air sports. ID card to present on site.

Flight : valid for 1 person

Equipment : flight suit, boots and helmet provided on site
